Kapti for iPhone, iPad and Mac
Most questions have one of the answers below.
Select the word wherever you met it, and send it to Kapti.
That is fine, and it is deliberate. Kapti asks which word the card is about and keeps the sentence as your example. A word you met in context is a word you remember.
Open Kapti once. macOS only registers a Service after the app has run. If it is still missing, check System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts → Services, under Text.
Kapti translates on your device using Apple's Translation framework, which needs the language pair downloaded first. On a new device the app offers to do this after your first capture.
If no pair is installed, the capture still works and the translation is left blank for you to type. That is intended, not a failure. You can download pairs in System Settings → General → Translation.
Correct. Translation and speech both run on your device, offline. See the privacy policy.
Kapti syncs through your own private iCloud database. Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account, and that iCloud Drive is on for Kapti in Settings → Apple Account → iCloud.
Sync happens in the background and can take a moment after a capture. It also needs a network on at least one of the two devices.
No. It is your iCloud, not a server the developer runs, and there is no way to reach it from the outside.
Capturing is never gated, and the starter deck is a gift that does not count against you. Fifty of your own words are free. After that, Kapti Unlimited removes the limit for a single payment — no subscription, and it is shared with your family group.
The limit stops new cards and nothing else. Studying, editing, reviewing and syncing what you already have keep working forever.
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account. On a new device, open the unlock screen and choose Restore. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that bought it.
Apple handles all payments and all refunds — the developer cannot see or issue them. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Delete any card or deck in the app. To remove everything, delete the app, and turn off iCloud for Kapti to clear the synced copy. Nothing is kept anywhere else — there is no server to ask.
